A marriage between an Indonesian citizen and a Taiwanese citizen requires different administrative and legalization procedures in both countries. What Is the Marriage Procedure for an Indonesian and Taiwanese Citizen?
A marriage between an Indonesian citizen and a Taiwanese citizen must be legally registered in both Indonesia and Taiwan. The process generally begins with the marriage being conducted in Indonesia in accordance with religious law and registered with the KUA or Civil Registry. The marriage documents are then translated into Mandarin and legalized for registration in Taiwan.
Is a Marriage Registered in Indonesia Automatically Recognized in Taiwan?
No. Marriage documents issued in Indonesia must go through a series of legalization procedures involving the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Taipei Economic and Trade Office before they can be recognized by the Taiwan government.
