Who Can Apply for an ITAS?

ITAS can be applied for by foreign nationals who have a sponsor in Indonesia, such as an employer, an Indonesian spouse, or an educational institution. The sponsor is responsible for the presence and activities of the ITAS holder while in Indonesia.

ITAS holders can legally reside in Indonesia and access various services and facilities, such as opening a bank account, renting accommodation, working legally, and applying for an extension of their stay permit without having to leave Indonesia.

The process begins with immigration notification and approval, followed by the application for a Limited Stay Visa (VITAS). After arriving in Indonesia, the process continues with conversion to ITAS and the online issuance of an e-KITAS by the Directorate General of Immigration.

Yes. An ITAS can be extended as long as the permit holder continues to meet the requirements and the purpose of stay remains the same. The extension must be submitted before the ITAS expires to avoid overstay penalties.
